Errrr... that's a bit of a niaive question, D.I.Y..
What the engine tuners or rich teams do is to buy up to 100, test each, select the best 1 for themselves, sell the next best 10 to 20 as 'selected' coils (or whatever component we are discussing today) and then sell the rest as 'standard'.
In fact, that last batch of 79 are, on average, inferior as the 'best' have been removed from the batch.
This isn't new.... it's been happening for at least 50 years to my knowledge. Damn it... I bought 'selected' stuff when I was a teenager (that's the 1960s and 70s)..... and it CAN make a huge difference.... My factory selected TKM L99 engine was a FABULOUS thing.
Why did YOU think that people paid their 'tuners' a fortune when, officially, all the parts of (for example) a Rotax are un-modified........?
