That was my first thought but after some 'interrogation'. No way was it him.
The carb and engine were spot on. He only adjusts the low jet if he gets over 200ºC. He has blown engines before when learning to do the carb, but he knows before I do if the set-up is right.
On the day in question, we never went above 185ºC. Both revs and temp were perfect, there was no reason for him to touch it. He'd had great results in the previous two heats - everything was 100%.
No major adjustments were made by me and if any (clean out the air box etc) everything was checked again (tyres, nuts and carb) before we go back out.
Like a few of the guys have said... From now on, that kart doesn't leave my sight and we put it down to another lesson learned.
