Farrang that was the reason for starting this thread. According to the rules it's not allowed and at some circuits this is enforced but not at others. The commentator specifically mentions using the plastic nose cone to push the kart in front. The best I can conclude as a beginner to racing is that it might be ok to push but maybe not depending on the coc. Which leaves the rest of the rule book to consider and we are sure to make mistakes while uncertainty exists about the rules. The problem is the book says if it doesn't say you can do it you cannot, which is fine in principle but if competitors are expected to abide by that very simple general rule then the officials must adopt the same approach otherwise confusion (especially from newcomers) is inevitable.
