Just shows how difficult it can be trying to run a club (especially for those doing it on a voluntary basis). Last month there were complaints about overcrowding. The club is trying something different this month and gets another set of unhappy karters. MBKC, like most clubs, has always welcomed `guest' drivers (S! or others) but must surely give priority to their members as they will race most meetings whereas `guest' drivers may only do a couple of meetings. Very annoying when you have sent in your entry early in accordance with the club rules but they either have another meeting with potential overcrowding or try a different method - either way they will get some skick. Futher down this page there is a thread about GYG where meetings have been cancelled because of a lack of entries. The thread developed into criticism of Shenington for allowing too many classes and drivers not getting good value for money in track time. Can the clubs ever win and keep everyone happy? Jo - I doubt that you will have to join every club - how often has a club taken this type of action over the years you have been racing? I agree with you that S1 drivers are not to be blamed for everything but some teams do not help. They do sometimes have awnings far larger than needed for the number of drivers and some parents in the teams expect to park their cars right beside the team awning regadless of this stopping others from getting in the pit area. Club drivers can also use more space then the official allocation. Officials often get a mothful of abuse if they try to get people to move/take up less space. Maybe the clubs should clamp down and kick people out if they do not comply with instructions from officials but what a horrible job for these volunteer officials!
