As an ex 2 stroke cadet dad I know there are differences in the power delivery between the Comer 2/ and the Honda 4/.

The biggest difference in my opinion is exceleration, the Honda has much more low end torque than the Comer, giving the Honda better get-up and go at low revs.

To get the most out of a Comer in the low rev range the driver has to be silky smooth in driving style and be very precise on corner entry and exit. The way the Honda delivers power in the low rev can mask wayward driving styles! If a Comer was driven in the same way it would be going much slower than the Honda would.

When learning Comer drivers tend to learn the technique that makes them go faster i.e. presice driving style.

I suspect your driver is not quite as presice in his driving style yet and one reason may be he can get away with it to some extent because the engine is masking the negitive effect.

Keep a close eye on his corner entry and exit, braking and steering input compared to other experienced cadets.
