That's correct. That's how you down load for each model.
Forgive me if I am wrong but I think you download from an Alfano with a VERY specialised light pen and you just get the lap times!
The Alfano does the job of a rev counter, lap time counter very well..... but that's about it!
There are some excellent Alfanos but not the basic one.
The Mychron does SO much more. For example.... because you tell it the combined driver/kart weight, the Alfano can work out the required BHP to accelerate your kart from speed Y to speed Y. It only needs to know how long it took to accelerate from (for example) 10,000 rpm to 10,100 rpm: to calculate the BHP at that speed.... and at ALL rev ranges
The implication is that the software can (and DOES) allow you to display a graph of the performance of your engine throughout it's rev range at the track! With this, you can make quicker and better choices of (for example) sprockets.
Many people know their peak BHP... god knows why! The peak power occurs at a set number of revs. The Mychron's software tell you how LONG you are in that rev range on the track. That MAY only be 1% of the lap time.... You will then be able to see if it's worth going OVER the max power range at the end of the only long straight so that you spend more time at the max power around the rest of the circuit.
It will also show you where two identical lap times with two different engines differ. It may WELL be that the other motor delivers more power where you CAN ovfertake rather than the motor which delivers power where it's of no use.
.... and so on.
Oh.... and of course, you get all the lap times and rev graphs too..... Plus TONS more!
I am a fanatic! I was so impressed when we bought one!
