Richy.... read the wordings:-
"There is currently no other neck protection system available for karters that can effectively help prevent all of the above potential injuries.""
Note carefully... that says 'NO OTHER neck support blah blah'.... it does NOT say that the Leatt DELIVERS that protection! It just says that the others don't (and forgets the words..... 'any more than ours does!')
Note carefully: "adapted and approved for karting".... who would argue that it HASN'T been adapted for karting? Putting a KARTING sticker on it would have 'adapted it'! If their marketing Department had 'approved' it... what would stop them HONESTLY saying it had been 'approved for karting'?
Sparcos claim is fun too! Clavicals and Sternums are not exactly 'sensitive'. Where does it say that the Sparco does NOT direct it to those areas.... it even claims that MOST neck braces do! Finally, if it DOESN'T direct it to those fairly solid areas to take SOME of the load, doesn't that imply that it now ALL gets transferred to the NECK????? Where else IS there to direct it?
I don't think advertising standards could find ANY fault with any of the above claims.... read as intended by the manufacturers. If YOU read more into those claims than they have ACTUALLY made... whose fault is that?
Look at the wonderful aspirin claims: 'Nothing acts faster than Anadin'. Absolutely correct.... taking NOTHING acts more quickly than taking a tablet. They don't claim that it WORKS better! At best, that's only claiming that ALL Asprins (Anadin and all the competitors) work at EXACTLY the same rate!
