I can understand accounts, my 'Poirot' comment was in reference to the non-financial goings-on behind the scenes between the two parties that have gone on.

I haven't been a member at Whilton for years, so have no idea about the specifics of how the club was run or access to their financials from AGM meetings.

Regarding the hypothetical 'paying themselves out of the sum', it depends on how they were remunerated over the years for their efforts!

I was not trying to belittle the efforts and successes of either party over the years. My rather blase comment was aimed at how they have seemingly shot the goose that lays the golden eggs. Someone or some people lost sight of what the club & circuit together had become and destroyed a harmony/balance that had, from the outside, seemed to work ok.

I have a pretty good knowledge of how circuits and clubs are run, and know full well that in the main, many are paid expenses and not much else.
