The older yellow ones, made by AMB, will still work at other tracks that use AMB-based timing systems, so chances are you will find someone willing to buy your old one as loads of tracks use AMB.
The TAG ones are same as FKS used last yr and S1 are using this yr, so anyone racing at either of these is gonna need one.
Extra costs are never good, especially as budgets are already at breaking point for some. My transponder is getting on for 6yrs old now and the battery is on its way out, which costs a fortune to replace given its only a battery, so they do sorta pay for themselves over the yrs.
Gonna keep my yellow one (and keep charging between races!) for use at other tracks and get a new TAG one while they're on offer.
