This is just my opinion:-
Firsty I would like to have seen on a few pratice days at different tracks a team doing some comparisons, maybe Pro Train, or another large team. So using a chassis such as a JKH or something which can run all 3 engines, run Comer for an hour, not a S1 engine, just a good club motor, then run a good club GX160 and then go to the Iame for a hour, and then compare the times, a decent club driver, not one of the top S1 boys, same tyres chassis the lot! and let us all have a look at this over a couple of months. Then we will get a true comparison. I also know someone who has an Iame which is just as quick as a Comer as the moment, this is standard and legal, just looks like a good one. I have recently been to Shennington and Rissington and seen Comers and Hondas in the same class, and it seems both these motors are of a similar speed, so why have to change these for the Iame. I think its fine to bring it in, but lets just run it for 6 months and see how it pans out. We have just purchased a new Honda motor for next season but looking at the regs there is quite clearly only one motor to run the Iame. My final thought, my son is tiny! and I mean tiny, he currently has 20kg of lead on his chassis when he goes into the Comer class. I have noticed alot of the kids coming out of Bambino into Comer are tiny also, do the MSA really feel it is safe for these kids to be driving 'tanks' around the track, the amount of lead going on these chassis are making it dangerous.
Just my thoughts.
