We have a average sp t1 and a "top" t2
The dyno sheet is night and day difference on power, torque and run time in favour of the t2 huge difference
But on track the t1 is better!
If you are new there will without doubt be more time in your package (driver, set up etc etc) then you could get out of motor
Yes a top motor can help but from my view save your money and test, then when you need those extra tenths and those tenths are consistent the. Think about a new motor
There are still a lot of very very strong t1 motors out there winning lots!
Got told UFO was not even selling the t2 for a year because they did not think they are ready, but that could be paddock gossip!
If the motors are to be slowed if I was in your position I would wait until things are
Good luck
