I wonder if one of the three Rotax engines this ebay kart trader has for sale is the lucky recipient of the serial numbers from this set of crank cases...
Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware.
The more I think about the principle of transferring serial numbers from one crank case to another the more wrong it is.
Not only does it mean that someone could steal my engines, remove the numbers and re-stamp with other existing numbers from cases in their possession,making my property untraceable and giving them a full value engine they can race or sell through theft, wouldn't it also destroy the whole concept of an accurate fiche system on which MSA Rotax in the UK is based...
Scrutator emptor - let the scrutineer beware.
