I was worried about them being soft when I went back to OTK I have done well over 30 meetings on one and it is fine and can still run at the front, I have just had 2 new ones for s1 and there is hardly any difference in the times and mine has had a few knocks and has only ever been checked on the jig never needed to be bent back
