Probably too late now but the problem may be too much or too little front. Depending on the style on the driver, if the kart turns in too well then the rear tyres may come on quick but then go off and oversteer.
If there is too little turn in (for the driver) then it may be understeer to oversteer - driver over-correcting. If I was trying to correct this I would be taking front off and helping the driver to deal with it.

Different wheels might help but if it's driver related then this may have a side effect somewhere else.
