Charging mine with a 12v 1 amp (1000 milliamp) power supply overcharged mine to the extent that it flashed faint red for 4 days before flashing green 6 then 5 etc for a further 5 days. A 12v 200 Mamp supply did a much better job. Why ? Don't know.

It could be that your transponder battery is now past re-charging but it is worth leaving it in the charger 'til green and then watching it to see what it actually flashes over a day or so.

The battery in the transponder in mine is only a 3 volt 3 cell nicad battery no bigger than an AA battery. Some transponders may have a single cell battery of unknown voltage.

Patience and gentle persistance will probably be the best way to proceed. 1 green flash is enough. It still works when it is down to the red flash.

If the battery has failed completely there have been several threads up to 6 years or more ago explaining the replacement technique. Do a search in this form.
