Firstly, I just want to say this may come across as negative, but it's constructive criticism from a customer rather than just a bit of a moan. The S1 site has come on considerably from the old site of a year or 2 ago.
The site now offers a self service and pay online for entries, tyres and fuel. Great, but why do I have to pay more for tyres and fuel if I do them online as oppose to sending off the form and a cheque?
Online Prices (TKM): - Fuel £44.60 - Slicks £139.19 - Wets £157.51
Offline Prices (TKM): - Fuel £43.00 - Slicks £134.38 - Wets £152.18
Now, I understand that there is a credit card surcharge, but what if I want to pay with a DEBIT card or paypal account? Why do I have to pay more? Also, as a side note, CC transactions do not cost nearly 5% of the unit price, so why is the cost differential that much? Ok, cover your costs if someone wants to pay using a credit card at additional cost to the business, but you don't need to further profit from us.
Finally, after paying £145 to register we still ,as competitors, have had no proactive correspondence from S1 around the confirmation of entries and series details.
If you want to move the business to an online, self-service model, great, welcome to modern society!
But it's hard to see how I'm getting value out of the £145 registration fee. If this is supposed to be re-invested to the online platform to add value to the customer, then do it! No offence, but I don't care about 'Jack Barlow graduating to KF2 with Intrepid' I want to know about the class I'm competeing in, whos racing in it, how many etc. as I'm sure others do.
It's not rocket science to provide a current entry-list page for each class which runs a dynamic lookup of registrations to date (in real-time) and gives the entry details.
Did you think to engage customers with what they want in the site re-design, or go ahead and prepare what you 'think' they wanted.
C'mon S1, you're half way there, but get with the details.... PLEASE!
