Do you REALLY think you would have been within 10% of Ayrton's, Terry's, Mickey's, Goldstein's, Peter Fore's, Mike Wilson's, Marco Ardigo's etc., etc., etc. ad infinitum..... times.....?

Trust me, you would NOT have been! Your own suggested 'rule' would therefore have precluded YOU, (and me, of course...) TOO! How would YOU have learned? My VERY first race was spent (metaphorically) GLUED to Martin Hines' rear bumper when he was already British Champion..... BOY..... did THAT first heat teach me a thing or two!

The bit you ALL seem to be forgetting is that, 5 minutes ago, Y*O*U were all WELL off the times.... but you didn't complain when YOU were allowed to practice/race WITH the QUICK guys! Mixing with the quick-boys made YOU who you are TODAY!

It's not fair for YOU to benefit from the older-rules and then to try to prevent the new-boys of today gaining the SAME benefits!

You are just re-stating the old saying:-

'Pull up the ladder, Jack, I'm alright!'
