I agree, A few years ago at Wigan I was starting on pole for the final and for some reason the carb wasn't picking up at low revs. So I delibrately took the start faster than usual in a hope that the kart wouldn't bog down (I couldn't pinch the fuel pipe any harder lol). Everyone got round the first corner cleanly before the false start & red flag came out.

The COC pulled me and the 2nd place guy aside and told us the start was too fast. At which point I asked whether anyone had come off at turn 1, he said no so I said what's the problem? He then took the hump and just said to take the start slower.

So I took the start slower 2nd time round (after struggling to get the kart started) and when I came round on lap 2, I saw 5 or 6 totalled karts sat up on the banking like there had been during each start in the heats.
