As a side note (Traxtar we agree on something - finally)!!
Lets put some perspective on this... How dangerous is it compared to riding a motorbike on the road against ongoing traffic with no clue of how the bike will react? Seems stupid to you and I but there are many out there with no experience chancing their lives every day but its allowed!
I've been racing for 12-15 years I've always had a direct drive TKM. Why? Because there is less to go wrong and it makes me think more about my actions on circuit rather than chancing half-hearted manouvres so there is an argument it could infact be safer.
There's lots of talk about near-misses and accidents in this thread, but I've yet to see one that is a result of someone push-starting.
Simply banning something because it no longer 'seems' safe is a product of today's chuck-away society that's killing karting. I've had the same motor for 8 years and yet I have to buy a new one just because somebody might have an accident in 10 years time?!
