Simon's right all the way here. The Tillet Rib Cage restrains you in the seat, preventing you from momentarily moving forward and catching your ribs on the edge - the most common reason why ribs are bruised/broken. I've broken my ribs three times, including while wearing an OMP carbon rib protector. Since fitting the Tillet Rib Cage to the kart seat, I've not had a rib injury since. It's always better to solve the root cause rather than address the effect.
