I spent last weekend shadowing a the MSA clerk of the Course at the jim clark rally and one driver was reported to have sworn at a marshal. the driver was a relitive of the clerk whe quite rightly mentioned he was related to the accused driver and couldnt deal with the matter independantly so passed it up the chain of command to the MSA stewards who after a hearing suspended the licence of the driver concerned.
not all or even any clerks are bent all clerk to the best of their ability and take advive from the MSA when required
