my advice is buy a lottery ticket...is slightly less of a con!!!....theres a reason its that price, because they expect X amount of people to enter...and the money raised will cover the winners fees for the year!!!!.....if you cant afford to race cars, then do what QOT says, save up for a couple of seasons, and do the series you want.....OR do

1) race in something with the 750mc, like the locost championship....entry fees are 2K a year, and you can do a season for around 5K inc entry fees, tyres etc.....

2) go race on the short ovals.....ok not so glamerous BUT there are no entry fees at all, you only pay to maintain your car etc....depending on whether you like contact or non contact racing there is a formula out there!
