Alan, if you think that is bad what about this revelation in this months karting mag

It seems that Martin Hines and James Mills have said in the current karting MAG that “There have been discussions with the MSA about forming a new class aimed at keeping costs down to manageable proportions.

“It’s essential in my view that any new class should be controlled by the MSA rather than commercial interests. Others feel the same way and we’ve combined our expertise to draw up plans that can make this happen.”

Basically it will be a Parilla X30 on Bridgestone tyres.

(So basically if I understand this correctly the official importers of Iame engines and Bridgestone tyres want the MSA to use these products – not really surprising then!)

Two sealing agents will be appointed based in northern and southern regions.

For championship rounds there’d be one agent supplying and sealing all motors allocated to the common pool. A hire charge of £500 per motor per round is anticipated, or £350 for the “bare” engine less water system, electrics etc.

Originally, it was intended to get the new class up and running by June, in time for the Super One Round at Glan Y Gors.

However, we believe that there has been some reluctance on the part of Super One organisers to squeeze another class into what is already a pretty tight schedule.

Added to that, the new class would obviously be competing for numbers with Kart GP and could have a detrimental effect on what is an established category.

Unlike Rotax, TKM or Kart GP it will be entirely controlled by the MSA rather than commercial interests. Paul Fletcher was consulted at an early stage and voiced some concern at the idea of awarding this class British Championship status either now or in the future. “I’m all for the idea of having a class where costs are controlled and the motors are theoretically equal,” said Paul. “However, a British title should be awarded to someone who is competing in the premier category and that, I believe, means keeping it open to various manufacturers.

Well I don’t know what you all think, I for one think the lunatics have taken over the asylum!
