Would you decline more grip relative in a race no of course you wouldn't and I am not saying more grip is a bad thing. (read to the end before you start jusmping up and down)
The question posted originally was more grip = easier to drive. My arguement was that I tried some super sticky tyres and in those conditions of a warm day and no set up changes from the tyres I was previously using the sticky tyres we harder to drive. I am willing to discuss any point with you and respect your opinion GREATLY however I am pretty sure you wasn't sitting on my lap at Bayford Meadows and therefore can't tell me that my feelings are wrong.
I still however feel that there must be a point where the grip becomes a disadvantage. Would you turn down more horsepower in a kart? No of course not. Oh hang on if I put a 10,000bhp engine in it it might not actually be drivable and over a lap would in fact increase the lap times. That my friend is the "tipping point".
