I can't see how you don't agree that "grip" is a subjective term and relative to the whole set up of the kart.
That is the point I am saying in that it is the lap time that is important not soley the grip from the tyre. Its like saying simply more power will make you go faster. That is not the case.
Yes a kart on softer tyres will be quicker in most instances than one running on endurance rubber but over a race there is a deffinate trade off between outright tyre grip, durability, drivability, and speed.
Would you really think super sticky tyres on a endurance prokart would give good times so that the second you went off line it bogged down?
