you need to vary your carb (jet/clip position) depending upon air density

regarding finishing early...

maybe take more fuel with you?

have extra petrol measured out already in a tagged can. if it looks like you need it just add the required oil and away you go (removing the tag so you know its now mixed). if not, add it to your car.
