Nobby.....

I ask again: how do you KNOW that solvents won't damage the helmet unless you 'flat' it? Especially when many helmets are made of different materials. For example, can you tell me if OMP, Bell, Simpson and Arai all use the same tpe of paint, 'gel coat' and 'stiffening' materials?

What is your experience of the materials of which helmets are made, their paints, their degradation with age, etc.?

You write defifinitively; I'd just like to know HOW you 'know'.
