Quote: "Classes should take it in turn at being the first final race"
Agreed, and that's what we do at HKC, last month Honda Cadets were 1st out, this month they were last. This month Comer were out 1st, next month they will be last and so on for each class. Rough calculation shows that Honda will be out 1st in September! Every month the race order changes to make it fair on everyone.
Just a few observations and corrections on the comments made:-
1. Saturday practice is nothing to do with HKC. This is run by the circuit owners, any complaints regarding the Saturday should be addressed to them. 2. There were 26 Honda Cadets entered yesterday, the MSA Track Licence is for 28 Direct Drive Karts. If there are more than 28 entrants in any class then there would have been 3 from 4 heats, a B Final and A Final. There would still be 28 karts in the A Final. 3. Not sure what is meant by split the grids, they already are, Honda and Comer race separately already. We don't run Honda Clubman or Rookie, they are all Honda Cadets. Novices don't race separately, they are gridded at the back. Novices are eligible to score championship points and are included in the respective class championship table. 4. Timed Qualifying is NOT racing, it's just procession with the fastest always first. How does that teach young drivers race craft and give them experience into the Junior and Senior classes? 5. Trophy Presentation nearly always takes place 30 minutes after the last race result of the day is posted. Sometimes there are delays, but we do try to minimise them. Trophy Presentation takes place at the other side of the circuit. It's not at all practical to present one classes trophies whilst racing in other classes is still happening. Attending a trophy presentation where all the classes are present shows respect to everyone taking part in the race meeting.
