Why do we continually confuse a slight hesitation on corner exit with a carburettor problem.
How many times have you "chased your tail" making unnecessary changes with no performance improvement. Most of the time it's down to the driver as he/she brakes for a corner.
Braking too early and/or approaching the corner incorrectly will cause the pressure in the tuned exhaust system to drop off causing the PV to close. (Assuming it's a Senior Max.) Ideally the PV should operate @ 7500 RPM, the adjustment allowing +/- 300 RPM changes to be made.
This may result is a slight delay or hesitation when throttle is applied again. This delay is due to the pressure having to be re-established once again in the tuned exhaust system until it is sufficient to re]open the PV.
Another reason for potential lag is driver throttle application. Many drivers tend to "floor" the throttle at the exit of a corner which is not the correct technique. The best method is to ease the throttle on from the exit of the corner.
