mark is absolutley right i think kgp will have a steady but consistant uptake. as more ppl go into this class and the teething problems are sorted they will find that is is nt a little bit cheaper but a lot cheaper. i siezed a motor 2 week ago and raced the same engine the day after and it cost less than 70 quid to fix, siezure was my fault,, i tried silly low on the low jet. if this would have been a max ur best barrel would have been gone and your bottom would have been sore just from the 120 a tuner would want to strip and re seal let alone the cost of the parts required. this is why i think the uptake will be steady. name one tuner that will want to encourage his customers into a class that it is more difficult to make money from. nope,, none come to mind,, on the equality front i know the last s1 was won on a sreight from the box motor as was the last clubbie and so was fawcett in jan clubbie finishing 2nd with same time as winner. I appreciate that ppl think i have a bias opinion, and maybe i do, but i like most of the karting fraternaty know exactly how much the cost of my pleasure is and i again like most want fair and equal engines at a reasonable cost, a frankly, rotax is a million miles away from this. when rotax came about ppl hung on to the dying tkm, and so will be the same with rotax, personally i thought tkm was cheaper and fairer than rotax bt talko failed to move into the watercooled with more power future. in fact they helped rotax by trying to push fourstrokes, bmb is simply a fast water cooled engine which is why it is being likend to kf but the reality is that it is more like a tkm. they just sound proppper!
