I don't think anyone is trying to put all ther blame on low TKM entries. It does though sound as if the entries for TKM were not sufficient to justify running it as a stand alone series.
MSA entries last year were also lower than ideal and the organisers have added Super cadets and KGP to help boost that series but merging the two makes it more viable.
Given that the two series are to be merged then it also seems logical to try and use the pre-booked dates/tracks from one series rather than a mix and match from both otherwise it disrupts everyone.
The TKM dates would not have been the best choice as the first round clashes with a WSK meeting - in fact the first round dates of MSA and TKM were switched because of this.
It is obviously very annoying if you have made lots of arrangements and now have to change them but even if S1 had said months ago "if entries do not reach xxx by the closing date we will merge calsses" there would probably have been just as many complaints from people wanting final dates so they could make plans.
