I will be DELIGHTED to aplogise..... the very INSTANT that you can find where I said: "4 strokes are SLOW" or even where I said they: 'were not FAST'!
I'd also be DELIGHTED to say that I was wrong the MOMENT you can show me where I said that Rotax Max was a GOOD example of a 2 stroke!
As I did NEITHER of those things...... I doubt that I WILL be apologising to you any time SOON!
Next..... I am DELIGHTED to say that 4 strokes are as heavy as the (pretty damned awful) Rotax Max and deliver the similar sort of, rather FEEBLE, performance..... The differnce is that the Rotax does it with 125cc whereas the 4 strokes do it with 250 or 350ccs. Not THAT impressive, really!
Finally, if you bothered to READ to the end, I paid t he HIGHEST compliments to a '4 stroke'.... the AIXRO.....
The engines which were PREVIOUSLY the 'perfect' kart engines were the simple and LUDICROUSLY powerful AIR COOLED 100cc two strokes..... with NO starter, NO radiator, NO water, NO water-pump, NO batteries, NO wiring loom, NO clutch, etc., etc..
My contention has ALWAYS been that karting 'got lost' with the introduction of water cooling and then the Rotax Max, Tupperware and the rest of the TRIPE. The 4 strokes are NO WORSE then the Rotaxes except in their EVEN-GREATER OVER-COMPLICATION!
Karting was at it's MOST popular, competitive, open and FUN when 100 Britain, 100 National (AC), and 100 International were the NORM. Every change AFTER that date has removed MORE people from karting. For me, the answer is SIMPLE..... cut the COMPLICATION and DISTILL karting again.
You guys clearly LIKE your brandy/whisky with water.....
