An Arai seller fitted one for us and it was so tight (in his opinion perfect) I knew it would only have lasted us 6 months. We then tried a Bell and found the shape just suited him better and had some growing room too.

So we will get two years out of ours but realistically the way children grow you can't expect to get more than two years out of any helmet. This is just something you have to budget for if you want to do kart racing.
