I raced in 177 at Kimbolton in Jan and the tyre choice was mixed, either Vega SL6 or the new Mojo, whats the point of that..
There are lots of issues in karting that people disagree about etc, some will never be resolved, but this is a no brainer.. the one issue that everyone would agree with is that unless everyone races on the same tyres it is not a race, the biggest single factor over anything else for an even playing field is tyres, thats why you mark them up etc etc that why all major competitions go to great lengths to keep them in parke ferme etc etc . People spend serious money going racing and deserve the organisations to recognise this by not making a farce of the event
Why on earth would any organisation involved in organising competitive racing even toy with the idea of mixing tyres o the same grid, it makes no sense and it is doing all of its customers a disservice by allowing it to continue. I don't care what tyres we use or when it is decided to change over, but just don't mix the tyres on the grid, or we might just as well race around tescos car park. If one club ie Whilton Mill can organise around whatever bureaucracy is causing the problem so can others. Steve Chapman is well known for his strong principles, and I applaud him on this one.
