the msa introduced super cadet allegedly to bridge a gap so smaller drivers didnt have to jump stright into a big kart (although why they set the weight at just a kilo less is beyond me but thats another story) the reason behind this, so they say, is to get a better kart to driver weight ratio and keep the lead to a minimum. although it was very rare for a driver to be wieghed, 2011 onwards is a differeent matter, apparently the weighing of drivers will be more regular. the main issue i have, and lets face it, we, as most others race because a) we enjoy it but also b) we want to win. now lets say and i m not saying we will, we get a good result in our first race, wether it be super cadet, or a junior class, and someone who finishes behind decides he wants our position, all they have to do is say, weigh the driver please. now dont get me wrong, i m not saying everyone would do that. but it does happen. If it happens once then it ll happen the next time At the end of the day, the rules state drivers have to be a certain weight. and if we re not at that weight then unless we have dispensation then we re breaking the rules.
