Ref Racing at Stretton. We run a Junior Prokart class but there is also room to incorporate another junior class within this if there are enough drivers willing to take part. Our open classes which typically feature Rotax and Bilands are very well supportted but generally feature Senior spec karts although there is no real lower age limit in any of these classes. The Thunderkart series that we also run has driver aged 12 racing in it.
Stretton view is to try and encourage people to race. We make sure that any driver entering a class is safe, both to themselves and also to other drivers but aside from that there are no limitations.
If there were enough Junior TKMs wanting to race, we would provide a grid. Initially I would have them out with the Junior Prokarts (who, incidentally are quicker then the senior prokarts due to a weight limit of 155kg and a 2nd hand Vega tyre rule we run for juniors) as a split grid but this works well in the other classes we run. When they get to a sufficient number they can then split out to their own grid.
I'm just in the process of putting together next season but at the moment its looking like this;
Honda Senior Prokarts Junior Prokarts Subaru Rotax Senior Biland Honda Open (thunderkarts - WF)
All rounds feature 3 heats and a final (normally over 25 & 35 laps respectivly) with a 15 minute practice and 10 minute qualifying session for each class. 2010 race fees were £25.00 for juniors and £35.00 seniors.
The season runs from March through to January as we don't race in August.
