When i saw the engines at the Kart show i was very impressed, it really looks like an proper bit of kit, and if it was an established class i would have no hesitation going into it over Rotax or TKM. The ideas behind the class in theroy are very good! However where it all falls down is the rubbish Vega tyre bolted on to it! because of the problems with them this year in Rotax i wouldnt go near a class using them with a 10ft barge pole! If this class was set up in Karters interest surely they wouldnt have picked these??? I dont know much about what the engine fiche allows but unless the tuner can remove material it will result in exactely the same problems as Rotax have with engine inconsistancy and people spending a fortunes finding good ones and good matched ancilleries!?
If it takes off current karters will either have to follow and spend more money to race in it with their exisiting equipment becoming devalued...OR stay in current class with much smaller grids (which are already small due to econnomic climate)...or give up! If its not a success it will just dilute grids at club rounds...Great!!
If there is ever a statement put out saying this class will use Bridgestone tyres and allow tuners to 'Blueprint' the engines....im in!!
