Before you bin the tyre, it may be worth checking the inside sealing edge of the wheel rim is clean.

It's common for rubber deposits from previous tyres to stick there, causing the air to escape. If the wheel is painted or coated in any way and has become chipped where the tyre seals, this will also cause a leak.

Make sure the sealing edges on the wheel are clean and undamaged, but if the tyre is pourous, like russell says: Bin it!
