Dave,

The problem is this.

Vega themselves have already admitted that there is inconsistancy this year due to new machinery and manufacturing proccess at factory, they I'm sure are/have been working hard to rectify this situation but bearing in mind the multiples of thousands they produce they probably accept the percentage that they know become problematic in use.

I understand your thoughts re; purchasing multiple sets so as to gain correct set up etc....we have done that same thing ourselves to the point of buying a full box, even two from TWO different suppliers....and guess what...non of them are the same, we can go out on Friday and have a great morning/day...put a fresh set on the same day and find extreme differences so bang goes the theory of consistancy/set up etc...

What we found at weekend at Buckmore Park was having to make so many chassis changes to accomodate the tyre issue and still struggled but had to make best with our situation, it's not good and organisations, MSA etc are fully aware, hence the 2011 MOJO introduction which due to their manufacturing process has led us all to believe we will be purchasing a consistant product that in effect is " fit for purpose ".

I'm sure there would be some mileage in taking this current product to trading standards but it would be a lengthy drawn out process....I know people have actually taken used Vega's back to JAG demanding reccompence, JAG's answer was to send the tyres back to VEGA (Hot potato ?

The irony of all this and I'm with Alan on his personal thoughts is that no matter how good the driver and no matter if you have the very best motor in the country along with the best team of mechanics....the go-kart is wholly and fully reliant on the four black round items at each corner which invariably determine the outcome !
