Deavinson is almost certainly correct, the front stub axle mounting gives it away. However, it's particularly odd as trhe engine appears to be mounted on an ADDITIONAL frame welded to the kart after it was built. The chassis looks like a 'fixed drive' motor (i.e., not ba gearbox kart) but the engine is mounted OUTSIDE the eengine mounting bars!

As for the engine: not even I know..... and it's my sort of age!

Put crudely, it';s a pile of junk that wouldn't be allowed to be used on amny kart tracks today. It can't even be rated as a 'classic' kart.

Don't touch it with a BARGE pole!

Next..... decide what you WANT from karting: if you want to race at some stage, then you need to start from a different direction! Tell us what you want to do in karting, tell us your age, mechanical knowledge, location in the country and your ability to get to kart tracks near you (i.e., do you drive?) and we can give you some sound advice what to do. It can be VERY painless and easy and we can try to help you choose agood 'first kart'. Just don't GUESS at a kart!
