well, lets talk about the chassis, NOT the axel!
The axel stays in the same possition when on the floor, and its the chassis that moves up and down when you put the bolts in the different mountings.
if you LOWER the CHASSIS (lift the axel up in the holes if you want to think of it that way) then this will reduce rear grip (paired with moving the front stubs in the same direction (move the spacers above and below the stub).
If you RAISE the CHASSIS (drop the axel in the holes in the chassis, also remember to do the front too) then this will INCREASE grip.
that, i believe is the basic theory and ive seen it work on ours!!
