I think you will find that revs DO make a difference, as in all designs, there is a finite maximum where things will be overstressed and may explode.

They are cheap straight cut gears and I don't think you'll find that they were exclusively designed with Rotax Max racing in mind!

I agree that the circlip design is flawed and there is more drifting of the gears on the shafts as they don't fit to snugly, unlike the plastic ones.

Try the same stunt with a GX160 flywheel, especially a Chinese lookalike and let me know if you fancy standing next to one while I rev it to 10k? (From a safe distance, ie. I can't see you, or hear you SCREEEEEEEM!).

I'm sure BrianP would tell you the same.
