i dont think it is a waste of time personally...the damage i got this year was because some numpty decided to throw it down the inside all the time or ran straight into the back of me....but the clerk wouldnt do anything because there was no evidence...if teh cameras are there the drivers are more reluctant to take you out and even if they do there is evidence to reprimand them. yes there is a chance the cameras can get damaged....however ive seen these cameras fall off and been run over....because of contact in cars/bikes and they survive perfectly well.
and as it was put to you before...what exactly do you suggest to make the driving standards better....and dont come out with the whole get more or better marshal BS cos thats not the answer...im an experienced track marshal....8 years on circuits, ovals, drag strips and kart tracks, and karting is by far the hardest to do...you can NEVER spot everything, with 30 karts out there, if you are not 100 percent sure about who caused what, numbers etc then you cant report it....and next think you get a pi$$ed off driver ranting at you...with the cameras it will be far more clear cut, having said that i still think that the cameras should be used in conjunction with cctv at the first corner, to clear up any first corner contraversy
