Perhaps it's a case of economics as in people have finite resources and also supply and demand where there might be too many classes trying to attract what is a fairly static and in some cases declining customer base.

When we started in 2003 we did Buckmore and Bayford each month for a year and the places were heaving. Over the course of time the nos have dropped off and some circuits such as Lydd and did I read even Larkhall have been severely affected. Lydd is now Daytonna and they struggle to attract 40 drivers across all classes and yet it was only a couple of years ago it was on the list of S1 circuits/rounds.

I still think there will come a time when the sport/industry will (need to) be right-sized and as successful businesses have proved - far better if you see it coming and do it yourself rather than not see it or get complacent and then have to react after the event.

I may have been asleep if it was published but I seem to recall a wide ranging review of the sport sponsored by the MSA which was due to report (?) and look at every aspect. If that's still ongoing then I hope they don't avoid coming up with options that might preserve the sport so we're still talking about it in xx years time. I think S1 celebrated it's silver wedding last year and I wonder in another 25 years time what it and the sport will look like?
