Yes I should have clarified I was talking about used value rather than new, since if costs are a limiting factor to someone they most likely won't be buying new.
I'm not really fixed against Max on principle, it just seems expensive. You say an 18 month warranty, but how many hours running is that? Surely it won't be run for more than about 20-25 hours without some attention? This is similar to Blue intervals of 20 hours, but Blue parts are cheaper as well as quoted rebuild costs from engine builders. Furthermore, you can do them yourself... I don't see how this ends up being more expensive??
I do wonder that if Blue/KF Clubman/TKM/whatever happened to replaced Max as the dominant class, if costs would increase to current Max level just as a function of being the premier clubman class...
