The thing is we don't wear the kit just to look good. They are primarily a saftey requirement. The suit will afford some protection if you end up skidding down the track and boots afford protection to ankles for the same reason.

I certainly wouldn't advocate that you go near a circuit unless you are fully equiped. Overalls at least will remove the ellement of loose clothing but offer little protection. Jeans would be a waste of time too and most trainers are made to look good first!!!
