Hi Northern Munkee,
Having just watched your production of the Club100 stuff i have to say i am most impressed, great to see Club100 getting some coverage.
As you say the best part of the coverage is the On Boards, as yet something that I have been able to make work. The MSA Scrutineers consider it very dangerous to mount cameras to the helmets, (this was how Hammond was injured when the OB cam dug into the top of his helmet)
I also consider your graphics nicer than has been seen on Karting for years, It looks to me as though you are using FCP to edit, which would make it a lot easier to make good looking Graphics!
The actual race footage is what lets you down. What cameras are you using to film the racing? The quality is great, as is the tightness of the shots but They seem small as there is excessive sensitivity when the cameramen are panning. A better tripod might give a smoother image. Also i would try and eliminate statics unless they are super close. TKM Festival had a static which was so ugly and slowed the edit. really all the races need 2-3 more camera to make it work.
The final thing (having worked for Eurosport, ITV and Sky on Motorsport) never mix shots, only ever cut. It slows down the footage and pace of the edit.
Otherwise, think it looks great and with a bit more experience (and a better commentator) you could easily broadcast it on Motors.
Happy filming
Ben
