this is starting to wander off thread a bit, so i will try to make this as brief as possible I have known Steve W and his father Gordon for a few years now and highly respect them both,Steve is an excellent driver and a great role model for any young driver to aspire to, and I believe he is being 100% genuine in his opinions and observations previously posted here however I think Steve's posting is based purely on his experiences in 4-stroke karting which must only represent about 10% of the karting in this country and even less abroad, so unlike him i would hate to think someone new to karting was reading this thread thinking that non-MSA is the way to go competetive karting unless they were thinking of going down the 4-stroke route which is not considered "proper karting" by the majority of the karters in this country. For anyone wishing to start karting for fun or wishing to find their feet in karting, before moving on to local and national level karting especially those with little or no mechanical experience I think 4 stroke karting, especially the honda generator engined classes is a great way to start, these classes are ran in most sprint/fun non-MSA races
