The whole thing about 24 hour racing (from doing Le Mans) is the different phases that the race seems to go through. The mid day start is very hectic, the race seems to settle down a bit in the late afternoon/early evening, and coming into the night the atmosphere changes again, under the floodlights, becoming absolutely fantastic! Possibly the best time to be on the track is during the early morning, when the sun is rising.

I must say, this type of endurance racing beats the hell out of sprint racing!
