In TKM, the difference between a dog and a flyer, is about 0.5s a lap. There is very little that can be legally done to improve a tkm engine, the key component being the barrel, which costs around Ł350. A revised (machined instead of cast liner) barrel was recently introduced, which improved the equality of the engines still further.
